Honesty Custom Sneakers: 021 Cape Town BBoy Tribute

I recently customized a pair of Converse All Stars for Ference Isaacs. The All Stars were plain white. I hand painted the images on each side and hand stitched padding into the tongue.

Thanks to Ference for the awesome photographs.

Photoshop Mixtape Covers

Here are a few Mixtape inspired photo edits I did. I used Photoshop CS5 and followed a few tutorials on Youtube.

A couple of pics from a live art show I did recently with the Cape Town based Rock band Wolftown.

Copic Marker Honesty

I got hold of a few Copic markers recently and created a couple of new character sketches. Copics are awesome for drawing and create a smooth - almost printed- appearance.

I used 5 copics: 1 black, two shade of cool grey and two shades of warm grey.

Art of Photography

I recently did a commission for Mr Ference Isaacs. Ference is a well known photographer in Cape Town and is especially popular amongst the Dance community of the Cape.

Im particularly fond of his ability to capture his subjects at their most tense and dynamic stages of motion. Below are a few examples of his work.

The artwork I created for Ference is a character that has a Camera for a head. I felt that the symbolism was appropriate seeing as he sees all through the lense of his camera. Below is an example of my first draft. It was drawn using black ink and a small synthetic bristle paint brush.

Below is the final framed artwork.

And a closeup...

If you would like to view more of Ference's work or contact him, you can do so at the following link:

A few oldies but goodies

I was going through my old cell phone and found a few pics of shoes I had done in the past. The picture quality isn't great but you can tell whats going on.

Pekas

'Pekas' is the Filipino word for Freckles. I thought it would make for an original title of this sketchbook production.

The drawing was created in the same manner as the previous examples: Fine liner pen and Markers.

Time for Honesty

I had a bit of time last night to draw for a bit finally. I pulled out a few pencils, a fine liner and a few markers...the result: Two Sexy Ladies.

One looked a bit like Rogue from the Xmen, so I decided to give her suit a 'Rogue-esque' color skeem.
